NaNoWriMo has 22,000 people signed up this year! That's pretty amazing. I think it would be a fun thing to try, but it seems unlikely that the ideas would last for a whole month? I haven't the faintest how you put together enough of a story to write a whole novel.... My ideas tend be good enough for a short essay, at best. And somehow I don't think 50 short essays would count ;-)
