Craziest!!

Thank you TxB for this gem! Who the heck has the time to make stuff like this??? More more more....

Update: Okay, by all means watch the other vidlit, and the editor's note, but AVOID THE STUPID BOOK REVIEW unless you want to start throwing things. Or unless you're a Democrat, in which case I guess you might enjoy it.

Here is political analysis every which way from Sunday. Pretty cool....
(And just look at that big ol' red 34 on the delightful state of Texas!)

It's gonna be a landslide!

According to the website, I'm supposed to remember this from the 2000 election, but, uh, well, I don't. Anyhow, at the time of this posting, Bush is ahead 56-44.

LAST Place???

I ask you, is it really necessary that my fantasy football team be in LAST place? I won the league two years ago. I was in the playoffs last year. Missing the draft and letting the computer pick for you is Not a Good Idea. Stupid computer picked TWO defenses and TWO kickers in the MIDDLE of the darned draft. Yikes. If I had gotten a good team, I was going to credit Mildred, but since my team sucks (43 points in two weeks! In a league with all kinds of extra scoring categories!) I'm blaming it all on Yahoo. Ptooey.

Meanwhile, Mr. Man is sitting across the room there crowing about having the top-ranked QB three weeks in a row. If his leg wasn't already broken....

before Wired's Creative Commons-licensed cd comes out. Because then the secret will be out and everybody will want Spoon and LeTigre and it's cooler if you knew about them before ;-)

We all have to deal with it

I don't exactly know how to honor this except to say that I understand the urge to chronicle passings. I've written four such posts in the last year, and I've not been sure that it's "appropriate" or what my family would think if they were to read any of them. My remembrances all feel inadequate to me, but I felt better for writing them. It's not as if there's a way to sum up the impact of a life in a paragraph or even an essay, but the attempts are heartfelt nonetheless. Maybe the act of "publishing" (no matter how privately) lends ... weight? ... to the elegy. I hope it's not seen as flippant or dismissive. For me, it has been a helpful part of the process of dealing with it.

EXACTLY. But they left out the equally dismal performances in the shooting arena. See here and here and here.

The Rules are Changing

No matter how the story ends up, the rules are changing now because of the blogosphere. Watching this unfold has been a wild ride. It will be interesting to see how the undoubtedly intensified attention affects online writers, as the blogging world becomes less and less a fringe element.

See here and draw your own conclusions.
